You Control: Desktops 1.1 Release Notes
The You Control: Desktops 1.1 update adds two new features as well as compatibility with Mac OS X Tiger (v10.4.1). Specific items addressed are noted below.

– Transitions are now handled by Quartz Composer and Quartz Extreme
– New Feature: You can now move the mouse to the edge of the screen to change desktops
– New Feature: You can now assign each virtual desktop to have it’s own files and folders on the desktop
– Improved the “clickable” area in the menu bar
– Right Corner Menu: Remains visible after using Spotlight
– The You Control Engine no longer causes iSync 2.0 to crash
Please note the following known issues with You Control: Desktops 1.1 and Mac OS X Tiger.

1. The Menu Bar Right menu option will not be placed in the “right-most” location like it was under previous versions of Mac OS X. Changes to the Mac OS X menu bar (i.e. the new Spotlight feature) will cause Menu Bar Right menus to appear in the same location as Menu Bar Left menus. This issue will be addressed in a future release.

2. The system call previously used for transitions under Mac OS X 10.3.x does not appear to be available in Mac OS X 10.4. As such, transition effects when switching desktops was re-written using Quartz Composer and Quartz Extreme. Transition effects are now rendered on the fly and as such, depending on the file size of your desktop pattern the first time you perform a desktop transition, you may experience a delay. Subsequent transitions should be faster.
